Edith (Edyta) Betkowski

Edith  Betkowski is one of Ottawa's most experienced and proven Gallerists. She founded and managed Ottawa's Alpha Art Gallery from 2012 to 2021 as an Art curator and Event/ Entertainment Host.  During that time she grew the gallery to 40+ artists and created a landmark new location on Sussex Street. She is now bringing all her well known talent, enthusiasm, and experience to Alpha and Omega, Ottawa's newest and most dynamic Art Gallery.  Edith has an innate understanding of art, along with an extensive network of artists. She has a large pool of entrusted buyers who can always count on Edith to present interesting, stimulating  new works from up and coming, as well as established artists from across Canada.

Edith's philosophy is reflected in her approach to the Gallery itself. She brings more forms of art to the visual works in her Gallery.

She brings music, jazz, poetry, book openings, dance nights 80 s , Salsa, and other forms of Art together for the enjoyment of not just her clients, but the general public, community and visiting tourists.

ART CULTURE EXPERIENCE

The Gallery

Art gives soulfulness to life, deepens its spiritual dimension and refines it through the experience of aesthetic pleasure. To stand before a work of art is to feel one of life’s greatest mysteries - the power and beauty of creative expression. Such experiences are afforded to the patrons of visual art by Alpha & Omega Gallery.  A&O is located in the heart of Canada’s capital at 101 Murray Street, steps away from National Art Gallery. This gem of a gallery exhibits masterful creations of Canadian artists, such as Marc Gagne, Fuad Hamdi , Lainie Towell, Luisa Gecolea as well as internationally renowned painters, such as Vladimir Velickovic.  â€‹

The blend of pulsating colours on the wall, sensual piano notes, and book excerpts read by local actors turns every evening at this cultural oasis into a memorable experience.  Moreover, events organized by Alpha & Omega Gallery continually enrich the community, raise the profile and visibility of artists, musicians and authors, and in turn, attract a generous support and involvement from local businesses like restaurants, gourmet chefs and sommeliers and distilleries.
